Growing up, I always had acne, always. Even when I was in the fourth grade, only 9 years old, I remember having a HUGE zit on my chin on picture day and one of the lovely boys in my class said that my zit was “The size of Mount Everest,” how sweet, right?! Having acne so young really made me feel insecure as a young girl and that feeling in my gut that people were only looking at my acne and not at me never truly went away. However, throughout the years, through my love of skincare and makeup, I have found ways to prevent my skin from breaking out and if I do have a spontaneous breakout, I know Doll 10’s Proven Beauty Solutions will be there to cover those breakouts and not harm my skin to breaking out more! I have found 10 inexpensive, at home ways to prevent my skin from breakouts, I am going to share it with you Dolls now!

1. Hands off the face!
I can’t remember how old I was when I was told the oils and dirt on your hands can cause breakouts, all I know is that when I was told that, I never touched my face again. Just think of the amount germs your hands pick up on a daily basis, from doorknobs to railings, elevator buttons, and everything in between. When you touch your face without washing your hands first, you transfer those germs and bacteria on to your skin. YUCK!

2. Wash your makeup off!
Overnight as you sleep, your cells work to repair itself. If your makeup is still on, the dirt and dead skin cells are not removed and your skin will not get the maximum replenishment it craves! The easiest thing to do is remove your makeup with a makeup wipe or Micellar Cleansing Water. Once all your makeup is removed, rinse your face with water and gently massage facial wash/cleanser into your skin!

3. Clean your pillowcases!!!!
This is SO important! You should be cleaning your pillowcases once a week. Makeup, bacteria, dirt, oil, and saliva (lol) can build up on your pillowcase and cause breakouts!

4. Clean your makeup brushes!
Again, just as important as cleaning your pillowcase, cleaning your makeup brushes is vastly important because the bristles carry dirt and bacteria, the less your clean them the more breakouts you will see! We recommend cleaning your Doll 10 makeup brushes with warm water and dish soap or baby shampoo!

5. Cut back on greasy foods & dairy
Your diet is essential to your skin. If you eat bad, your skin will react poorly to the food! I recently cut out all dairy and my skin is thanking me for it! I have noticed fewer breakouts, and clearer skin altogether!

6. Reduce your stress
I know it is easier said than done, but reducing your stress in any way possible is SO beneficial to your skin clarity. Stress is the #1 cause of premature aging in the world today. That is why Doll 10 Beauty formulated Doll Skin™ Anti-Stress Skin Perfector! It acts as the first line of defense against the signs of premature aging! If you reduce your stress, your skin will appear more clear and radiant!

7. Use a separate towel for your face
This is an easy fix! If you wash your face and dry it with the bath towel you use for your whole body, you will transfer dirt and bacteria directly onto your skin. I recommend having an abundance of facial towels on hand and using one of those to dry your face then putting it in the hamper so you always use a fresh, clean towel on your skin!

8. Exfoliate, exfoliate, exfoliate!
This is something I’ve actually found out recently that exfoliating your face every day is NOT bad, it is actually necessary! If you do not exfoliate and get rid of dead skin cells, the (expensive) skin care/skin treatments you apply to your skin will just sit on top of your dead skin cells, and not penetrate into your skin to repair and replenish.

9. Get more sleep
Beauty sleep is real! Studies show that getting more sleep will help your complexion greatly! That being said, more sleep will improve your skin clarity, puffiness, and reduce the appearance of premature aging.

10. Drink lots of water
Drinking lots of water is overall beneficial to your whole body. You can do no harm by drinking water. Drinking water flushes out all the impurities in the body! Your skin is an organ, it craves water just like any other part of your body. Your skin is made up of cells, without water, your skin will function correctly or look its best!

There are a million things you can do to improve the appearance of your skin, and my tips may not be the best of the best but they are inexpensive, at home DIY skin clearing hacks I have found beneficial for me! And I hope you will find my 10 tips for clearer skin helpful as well!
